1978—M. Cary & Daughters Plumbing is founded by Mitchel Cary and his dream
1978—Melissa and Michelle begin riding along with their father for “fun.”



2003 - 2018

2005—The Princess (AKA Shaelin) is born.
2009—The Baby Prince (AKA Dee) is born.
2011—Michelle obtains her plumbing license.
2012—The girls make the cover of Plumbing and Mechanical Magazine.

2013—The girls are profiled in Decatur Living Magazine.
2014—MC&D wins the City of Decatur's Historic Preservation Commission's Leila Ross Wilburn Award.
2014—MC&D wins MLK Project for Most Valuable Participant
2016—MC&D expands, opening a second location in Tucker.
2017—Melissa is featured on the cover of Southern PHC magazine and profiled in Up Close and Personal in Tucker.
2018—Melissa becomes a PHCC Board Member.




1986 - 1990

1986—Melissa joins MC&D full time. She really needed designer jeans.

1987—The family is profiled in MS. Magazine. The pictures are CLASSIC.

1989—Melissa obtains her master plumbing license, becoming the youngest female plumber in the South. She recruits Michelle as an apprentice. Michelle needed designer jeans too. Both girls spent many years on service trucks earning their stripes.

1990—MC&D becomes known as “The Old House Specialists.”



2019 - Present

2019-2022 – COVID – As an essential business, we remained open to service our clients, while masking and using special protective gear.

2023 - Kat celebrates her 25th year as an MC&D team member

2023  – MC&D Wins Best of Atlanta for Atlanta Magazine

2024 – The Princess (AKA Shaelin) Graduates high school and starts her 1st year of college

2024  – The Prince (AKA Josh) Obtains his Plumbing License
